Dyi photo cube dice!

This is what I do instead of cleaning the house!! A photo cube/dice for grand maman  Lise. We are going to visit soon and I always like to bring a little something something.

HOW TO: read my earlier post as it explains where I got the backed paper fabric roll and a little bit about the pros and cons. Basically I printed 6, 4x4 inch, square pictures and stitched all together inside out. However make sure to leave an opening on the last square to turn outside in and stuff. Notice that the pictures have chosen all have different amount of people on them. From 1 to 6...A family photo dice!
Have fun,
bisous Sof

DIY personal pouches with home printer!

You need: Home printer, either spray glue and thick paper (or cardboard paper) and scissors. You will need to glue your white fabric on your 8.5 by 11 paper and make sure it has no loose ends as to not break your printer or jam it. Just insert it as you would your paper and print! After just peel off the paper backing. NOTE: my printer uses water base ink and therefore your design is not washable or even waterproof. I have read many blogs saying how you can use soda ash or vinegar to make the ink waterproof but I have tried them all and so far no luck!

Because I loved the idea and wanted to make all sorts of things ( as you can see below), I  found that technique to be a bit of a long process so I bought an actual roll of transfer fabric. I bought it at Dharma Trading Co. and I can only say amazing things about these guys. You will love their website and their honest approach to all things which includes good prices. What I bought was this ink jet fabric roll. I love it and the colors are amazing. Again here however with water base ink it is waterproof but not washable. A bit of a bummer for me as I was hoping to do custom t-shirts. I have to figure it out but I think short of changing printer and buying one that uses a different kind of ink, I am out of luck.

I love these little pouches...They make perfect gift and are a great way to showcase your drawings and/or illustrations. Hope you enjoyed..careful its very addictive!

Sofs vintage sewing machine collection is expanding.

2 new little ones to my collection. I will put better pics when they get home! One of them is a brother which will end-up being a companion to my previous 'pink brother' machine.

A new home for my Vintage Sewing machine collection.

Don't they look nice! I wonder where I am going to put the other ones...

Oh yes... and I am working on the next phase of Sofs's adventure. Workshops! Soon you will be able to come play, make and learn with Sofs! As such you will be able to pick and choose which machine you want to work with. A pleasure for all your senses, you will be treated to all sorts of surprises and you'll walk away with fabulous handmade. (humm humm, gifts made by you!) Now, how cool is that.

Presentation day, shirt tutorial.

Imagine wearing your presentation topic! Well that's what we have in mind over here and we want to show you how. First you will need to find fabric or have fabric printed over at spoonflower or a similar place. This step should be done as soon as you know what you are presenting on cause it may take a while. As you can see in the pictures Steph has been researching le ' léopard des neiges' (french school) and so I had the fabric made for her. She was so happy.

And now the fun stuff: please use pictures as instructions and comment me if you need more details. PICTURE TUTORIAL
Have fun! And good luck with your presie.

Use one of your favorite shirt as a pattern.

We took an old curtain to use as the back. We cut using the leopard front as a pattern and pinned it together inside out.

Sew all around leaving the bottom and neck line open...and Voilà! You are ready for the big day!
